Story
Rebecca Kendall, a beautiful ex-ballerina, has it all. There’s the stunning house in the English countryside. There’s her talented eldest daughter Eloise, on the verge of following in her mother’s footsteps and becoming a principle dancer at the National. There’s her sweet natured free spirited daughter Gemma. And then there’s her husband, the handsome, adventurous Robert.
As Robert leaves for yet another mining exploration out in the wilds of the Yukon Canada Rebecca can’t help but feel a twinge of anxiety. And she’s right too. For the last five years Robert has been living a lie. Without Rebecca’s knowledge he has invested everything they own and more into a gold mine in Canada. But that’s not all. As he touches down in Canada we see the full extent of his deception. He is met by Natalie and Jared: his young, attractive wife and son.
He has been living these two separate lives for the last five years. It is only upon Robert’s untimely death in a plane crash that the truth begins to emerge and the two women, until now oblivious to each other, become set for a collision.
The shock of Robert’s betrayal is compounded by the realisation that he has left the family broke.
The one person that can help her is Martin, Robert’s brother and partner. What appears to Rebecca to be a helping hand is really only a way to make her financially dependent on him. Born out of a longstanding desire for his brother’s wife Martin is making his play.
But it seems that one of the few people in Rebecca’s life that doesn’t have an ulterior motive is the handsome veteran, Harry, that has recently bought the rectory nearby.
Martin insists that Rebecca stay away from Natalie and allow him the time to get rid of her. But Rebecca and Natalie meet and very quickly it becomes clear that they have more in common than they could possibly have previously accepted. They are both The Other Wife. They have both been equally wronged.
